Listening is the foundation of comprehensive wealth management. Specifically, listening objectively and carefully understanding your unique situation is the foundation for developing your Certified Financial Plan and tailored Investment Portfolio Strategy.
In strict confidentiality to guard your privacy, we are attentively listening and prudently gathering information about your life and finances. All financial and non-financial information issues intersect to help us begin framing a tailored Financial Plan and comprehensive Portfolio Strategy.
In Step 1, we are focusing on understanding your particular goals, need for goals, preferences, general financial knowledge, key elements of personal-career-business-retirement-legal-estate and financial planning issues. We are also interactively gauging your comfort level with various investment vehicles, time horizons, preferred level of risk tolerance and preference for safety in light of the rate of return expected from your portfolio.
Step 1 recognizes you are unique. It is an open, interactive, transparent environment setting the attitude and character of how we work and communicate with each other. Listening is the foundation of delivering truly objective, professional stewardship of your personal trust and financial affairs. Objectively listening is the beginning of all that follows and sets the tone for protecting and growing your wealth!
Step 2 is where transformation occurs. Information gathered in Step 1 is transformed into a customized Investment Policy Statement, or IPS. The IPS is a very important ‘living’ document that summarizes your personal portfolio strategy and serves as the touchstone for ongoing investment decisions.
At frequent, regular intervals, your portfolio manager objectively discusses your IPS and if necessary, adjusts it in light of current market conditions, emerging trends, different investment goals or other factors. (see Step 5 Measuring Results).
Step 2, Transforming client information into a comprehensive statement guiding investments is a key element of our comprehensive wealth management through marriage of wise financial planning and proactive investment portfolio management.
Implementing your IPS (Investment Policy Statement) – Structuring the Investment Portfolio
Once your Investment Policy Statement is formed in Step 2, your Portfolio Manager uses your guidelines as a touchstone for allocating your investments into specific, individual holdings. The formation, allocation and birthing of your portfolio is done in strict accordance with your constraints and preferences as to the types of investment products and strategies.
If you so authorize, from time-to-time your portfolio manager may make changes to specific holdings if market conditions warrant. These adjustments will always be in keeping with your investment policy statement carefully developed in your Investment Policy Statement (IPS) in Step 2.

Our constant vigilance monitoring the pulse of the markets is particularly helpful when market conditions are changing or unexpected events occur. Our vigilance means you can relax and focus on living … while we are focusing on protecting and growing assets according to your investment goals.
For complete peace of mind and superior communications with clients, we offer each client complete access to your portfolio manager 24/7 should any questions or concerns arise.
Investment performance is important. Understanding how your portfolio is performing with respect to your expectations and in comparison to appropriate benchmarks is an excellent gauge of performance. The Harding Financial Group provides quarterly performance updates on your investments.
Every 3 months, your portfolio manager reviews and discusses the performance of your investment portfolio. The quarterly client review compares the performance of your portfolio under our investment management expertise against an appropriate benchmark previously selected and agreed upon in your Investment Policy Statement (IPS, Step 2). The resulting comparison will clearly show positive, measurable impact of HFG’s portfolio management delivering growth and protection to your investments. The quarterly reviews are a cornerstone in our commitment for complete transparency, investment performance and truly objective, comprehensive wealth planning.
